Ideal Molar Bands adapt to the contour of the tooth as they are positioned. These bands, while easier to recontour than our Snap-Fit Bands, also have an edge hardness that prevents edge crushing as they are seated, and the shorter crown height is ideal for Ovation users. They are made from seamless stainless steel and are stretched minimally during contouring to assure greater strength. The interiors of all bands are etched for roughness to increase bond strength. Sized 5-38 for first molars and 1-32 for second molars, these “softer” bands provide excellent fit and stability. They are anatomically contoured for left and right, and they are marked using our patented Electro Chemical Etch process. This process provides permanent band identification that withstands sterilization and will not weaken the integrity of the band nor stain nor anneal, as laser identification can.
